Dreams come in all shapes and sizes. For me, the dream of performing in my hometown of Ottawa, Canada has always been #1. In late January, that dream came true as I joined the cast of Elizabeth Manley and Friends at Scotiabank Place. Elizabeth Manley is a Canadian figure skate who is best known for overcoming a deep depression to go on and win a Silver medal at the 1988 Olympics in Calgary, Alberta. She so graciously asked me to be a part of her show and perform my single Fight To Believe as the opening number for the show. The show benifited DIFD and the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa to help spread awareness of the growing issue with teen mental health in our community. I’m so blessed to have been able to take part in such a wonderful show for a more than worthy cause.
Hope everyone is doing fantastic:)
I was recently asked to get involved with an anti-bullying organization called Bullyville. Please click on the Bullyville logo below to read my testimonial.
This is just a reminder that anyone can be a victim of bullying but it’s up to us to unite and stand up to it!
I’m so happy to announce that I’m officially a contributing blogger for the amazing denim line DL1961! I’m such a huge fan of these jeans and so excited to be working with them. Click on the pic below to check out my first blog post for them!
Hey guys! Happy FALL! I have to say, this is one of my favorite times of the year (other than Christmas, of course) It’s hard to put my finger on exactly what make this time of year so special to me, but I am certain that the crisp Fall air, chilly nights and the fall fashion have a lot to do with it!
First off, perhaps you are wonder where I have been? I know, I know I’m sorry for falling off the radar! The truth is that I’ve really had so much going on. So many incredible and exciting things happening in my life. I’ve been really busy working on new music collaborations with some of the most talented DJ’s I know. I’ve also been working on some new styles and sounds that I’m excited to share I have a good feeling that you will love my most recent projects!
A few days ago, I did an interview with a hilarious fellow Canadian, Bryan Cox. He has a great show on XM/SIRIUS SATELLITE radio called “Hey, Get Off Of My Lawn”. We did a quick 5 minute interview where he asked me about everything from Broadway to my transition into solo and DJ tracks to my thoughts on EDM. I posted the interview on my press page. Let me know what you think about it.
In other news, I will be heading back to Broadway to once again join my family at Rock Of Ages in late October! Keep up with my twitter for those exact dates:) I also recently shot another episode of NBC’s SMASH! As usual, it was such a great experience and I’m sure you guys are gonna love it!
I also have a new project that I’m going to be doing with an amazing jean line called DL1961. You can find DL1961 at several retailer locations including Denim Habit in NY and Kitson in LA. I was asked to dance in their NY fashion week show a few weeks ago. Let me tell you, I channeled my inner Giselle, it was like living my super model runway fantasy! Being on a runway with (what seemed like hundreds) of camera bulbs flashing is a totally different rush then being on stage or in front of the camera. It was so much fun and definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity. After the show, Sarah Ahmed, the talented designer and director of the line, asked me to be a contributing blogger for their website. I’m a huge fan of the jeans and so excited to jump on board! I’ll let you guys know when my first blog with DL1961 is up:)
Enough with the shop talk (well sort of).. One of the shiniest highlights of the past few months was my trip to Miami! Specifically my experience at LIV. For anyone who doesn’t know, LIV is not only one of the top 5 nightclubs in America, but it also has one of the greatest sound systems I have ever heard! Earlier this summer I collaborated with Cedric Gervais(who is one of their resident DJ’s) on a couple songs and he happen to be spinning at LIV one of the nights I was there. As I was dancing the night away, a news song came through the speakers and I thought to myself “Yesss…this songs is amazing”…then it hit me “Oh my God! That’s my voice and that’s our song he’s playing”. I immediately ran like Flo Jo to the DJ booth. To sum it up, I was in heaven!!! To hear our song being played at LIV, on that sound system, with 800 people jumping up and dancing to a song I helped create, was truly one of the most exhilarating moments of my life. I’m so proud of this song and look forward to our upcoming release of it!
Other than working, I got to spend a lot of time with my family this past summer in Vancouver and Ottawa. For anyone who doesn’t know me personally, my family means the world to me and I feel so fortunate to be able to hop on a plane and see them! I remind myself that life is so short and so precious and it’s never too often to tell a friend or family member that you love them.
So that’s my big update! I hope everyone is happy and healthy! Please look out for new music coming in the new couple months! And here are a few pictures from the last couple months of my adventures!

I’ve always believed that you never know what you’re missing…until you’ve actually experienced it. Well, last weekend, not only did I experience, but I ate, slept and breathed the 2012 Coachella Music Festival! In the words of the hologram version of Tupac “What the F#$k is up Coachella!!!”
For a couple years now I’ve been hearing about Coachella, but never really knew what it was about. When I got invited to go, I thought, ok this should be cool, and I was going to get a chance to see some musical acts that I’m pretty much obsessed with. I think by now, you all know that I basically live for EDM (electronic dance music), so naturally I was crazy excited to check out Calvin Harris, Avicii, David Guetta, Justice…but let’s not forget hip hop legends Snoop, Dr Dre and special guests(who I will mention later).
Well, let’s just say, I had NO idea what I was in for! I was definitely excited…but nothing could prepare me for 85,000 hardcore music fans all in one massive field.
The energy surrounds you as you take the (long) walk to the venue. It is SOOOO cool to be in an environment where people are there solely for the MUSIC!!! And music, I herrrrrrd! There were 6 stages set up, and I spent most of my time flip flopping between the main stage and the Sahara tent, which is where most of the EDM acts played. Of course they were at opposite ends of the field, so I got a nice little workout in too;)
I drove to Coachella, CA on Friday morning from Los Angeles with my west coast bestie, Lulu! She’s really a bestie on either coast, but she’s my numero uno on the westside. On the 2 1/2 hour drive, we had our own music festival happening. We listen to everything from country to rock to teeny bop!(our most recent song on repeat is Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen). Anyways, I was lucky enough to stay at a beautiful house(seen below) set on a PGA golf course only 10 minutes from the Festival. We went with a decent sized crew which made everything even more fun! Buddy system!
So Friday night, we hit the EDM tent pretty hard! Started off with Alesso, Madeon, Afrojack, and then moved over to the main stage to catch Swedish House Mafia! Since it was my first night at the festival, I was not only in awe of the sweet tunes my ears were hearing but also what was happening around me! The weather was cold, wet and windy, but everything inside that tent was on fire!
Night 2, we got a little more serious, and that night was all about one thing, NEON Carnival! This was THE party to hit up after the festival on Saturday night and was worth every bit of madness it took to get there! It was the perfect combination of music, rides and drinks all set at a (ahem) quaint Indio airplane hanger!
The last night of Coachella was really one of the most memorable nights of music I’ve ever witnessed. I was lucky enough to be in the sound booth for both Calvin Harris and Avicii’s sets! I have seen both of these artists several times in the past couple months and it’s always a unique and different experience/performance every time. It’s really refreshing to see artists WORK hitting the crowd with fresh new mixes and not just the same old thang! Of course, the last set of the weekend belonged to Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre!…oh and Eminen, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar and the late, great, but seemingly alive, Tupac(I’m sure you’ve all heard a little something about that magical performance). Everyone that knows me, knows I love me some hip hop! It was definitely a hip hop extravaganza like I’ve never seen! I can’t lie, when 50 starts going “go shawty, it’s your birthday”…gets me every time!
Monday morning I left Coachella, mind blown. It was more amazing than I could have imagined or explain to you. If you ever get the chance to go..take it!! I didn’t know…and now I do! I’ll be back next year and hopefully one of these years, I’ll get to perform!
